About Me

I am Gregoire Fournier, a PhD candidate in Mathematics at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). My research focuses on AI explainability, Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), and large language models (LLMs). I work on improving model interpretability, ensuring fairness, and bridging AI with legal reasoning.

I am looking for opportunities in data science and AI research where I can apply my expertise in machine learning and model interpretability to solve real-world challenges.

Research & Publications

PhD in Mathematics (Sep 2020 - Aug 2025) - University of Illinois Chicago

  • Developed legal argument generation using large language models (LLMs), featured in JURIX 2024.
  • Designed a counterfactual explainer for Graph Neural Networks, under review at ICML 2025.
  • Explored logic-based interpretability methods for Graph ML, under review at LICS 2025.
  • Current work: Developing a hybrid framework that integrates fine-tuned LLMs with structural graph insights for better AI interpretability.
